This was a GREAT day out on the water! The sun was shining and it was a clear day with fantastic visibility of the beautiful green coastline and the Whale's Tail as the tide began to creep in! We saw many caves and arches along our ride. The boat ride was so smooth and our guide was very knowledgeable of Costa Rica and the wildlife in the water below us. We saw a variety of large fish jumping and some dolphin playing. Even though we did not see any whales, this trip is well worth taking and we would do it all over again!
We had a great time on this boat tour! Our guide was very knowledgeable and funny, kind, and was responsive to questions. They didn't mention this anywhere but they provide snorkeling masks (no fins are allowed) and the snorkeling was EXCELLENT! So many tropical fish in crystal clear water. They have ample fresh pineapple, watermelon and water after snorkeling. We saw some cool rock formations which were beautiful, and different birds. There was only a 50% chance of seeing whales during this season and we did not see any, but we did come upon a large pod of dolphins that swam right around our boat for about 45 minutes. I think if we had not seen whales or dolphins $90 would feel a little overpriced, but they do tell you up front that there are different months with a 90% chance of seeing whales so we took a risk. I highly recommend this tour, but if you really want to see whales it's better to go during the height of whale watching season: July-Oct, and August and September is best!
