Sarah, our tour guide, provided our small group of 8 a good history on the castle, including fun and interesting facts about the Netherlands as we drove to the property. When we arrived, she offered us snacks and a drink, and then offered to provide a tour through the castle for those who wished to join her, which we thought was very nice. Six of us decided to go with her and enjoyed her commentary as we explored the building.

Full description

Let us take you to the most beautiful castle in the Netherlands. We will leave Amsterdam at 10:15 in the morning. Kasteel de Haar is only a 45 minutes’ drive away from Amsterdam and takes you back in time. In a small group tour we have about 3.5 hours to visit the castle with its stunning rooms, its gardens, and the beautiful, landscaped park around it. Kasteel de Haar is characterized by its rich and extravagant history and the many special stories hidden behind the castle walls. During the transportation our local guide will tell you something about the Netherlands and answer all the questions you might have.

We will leave from De Ruijterkade 151, 1011 AC Amsterdam, next to the ALOHA café (at the River Cruises Docks). It’s in the center of Amsterdam, right behind the Central Train Station. Take the IJ exit of the Central Station and turn right. The River Cruises Docks are located on your left after approximately 250 meters. A host from Dutch Tours will be there to welcome you!

Castle De Haar is a must see when visiting Amsterdam. This tour however is more just a taxi ride in a little minicab. The guide/driver was pleasant but the castle has its own knowledgeable guides
