East Zion: Crimson Slot Canyon Exploration and UTV Tour

1. East Zion: Crimson Slot Canyon Exploration and UTV Tour

Explore the slot canyons of East Zion and ride in a UTV on this adventure tour. With a guide driving you around, sit back and enjoy the experience. Navigate through diverse terrain to reach the canyons and then hike to explore the deepest parts of these remote areas. Start with a thrilling ride in a customized off-road machine leading to a slot canyon, far from any paved roads. Once at the canyon's mouth, the hike begins. The red canyon walls stretch over 100 feet high on either side, with a gap of only 6-10 feet between the walls to hike through. Led by a guide and local expert, the tour continues on foot through the canyon while learning about Native American history and geographical information. Large boulders frequent the route, requiring climbs of 3-6 feet with the guide's assistance. Pass by the highlights of Zion National Park, such as the peaks of Kolob Canyons, the sandstone mountain of the Altar of Sacrifice, the Temple of Sinawava natural amphitheater, and the Angels Landing rock formation. After traveling the desired distance into the canyon and capturing stunning pictures of these sandstone formations, hike the same route back to the vehicle and return to the meeting location.

Once darkness settles in, the formal part of the evening begins when 40,000 watts of natural light illuminate the canyon wall. Watch as lights, shadows, music, and narration make the stories of the canyon's formation, creation, and history come to life on the walls above the river - as learned from the early settlers of the area (the Catholic conquistadors, Native Americans, and Mormon pioneers).
