What to Expect
Walk among the penguins of the Beagle Channel on an unforgetable nature tour from Ushuaia. You will sail to Martillo Island, home to a colony of Magellanic penguins from September through April.

Meet your guide at the tourist port of Ushuaia, and drive the legendary National Route N° 3 for staggering views of the Patagonian countryside. Then, take a 15-minute boat ride to Martillo Island. The Magellanic penguin rookery hosts around 1,000 nests, and is one of just 3 in the Tierra del Fuego region. There is also a small colony of 9 breeding gentoo penguin couples (Pygocelis Papua), the only one in South America.

Take a 1-hour guided walk with the penguins in groups of no more than 20 people for your - and the penguins - comfort and safety. Along with the penguins, look out for skúa birds, petrels, cormorants, vultures and South American terns.

Then, sail back to Harberton Farm on the mainland for some free time to explore the traditional estancia (ranch). Wander around the gardens, and visit the Marine Mammals and Sea Birds Museum Acatushun to learn more about the endemic wildlife.

Take in the the views of the “End of the World” before your transfer back to the port in Ushuaia.
