Ushuaia is the capital of Tierra del Fuego, located on the coast of the Beagle Channel. Known as the "End of the World", this city offers a beautiful view of mountains, sea, glaciers and forests found nowhere else on Earth.
What to Expect
Tour the city's commercial center and see the houses of the first settlers in a double decker bus. Then you'll enter the restricted area of the naval base where the first public buildings in the city will be seen, (the replica of the lighthouse at the end of the world and the former prison).
From there, you'll head to Gobernador Paz Street and drive to the Paseo del Centenario, the panoramic point where you'll see the chains of mountains surrounding the city and the islands across the Beagle Channel. Then it's down to sea level to see the vessel aground Saint Christopher, and hear about its story.
After the 1-hour tour, the bus can leave you at the The Maritime Museum and the Prison of Ushuaia where you can take a guided tour.
