Head to a world 40 meters below the busy streets of Naples’ historic center. Isolated in time and unexplored until recently, this underground space…
What people are saying about Underground Naples
Exploring the underground of Naples was amazing! I wasn't particularly fond of the tight, dark tunnel but seeing the aqueduct and some of the things left behind was cool. I was really intrigued to learn that some of the modern buildings and structures were actually built over ruins. The only thing I was not pleased with was that i had paid for the underground tour AND the pizza. After the tour, we went to the pizza shop that was supposed to take the voucher and apparently they were closed to the public until 7pm. (The hours of operation for the pizza shop was not listed when booking the excursion and maybe should be so others in similar situations will be aware of) Because I was in Naples on a cruise ship, there was no way that I could've stayed around that late to be able to get the pizza. I was able to find another local spot though and that pizza was delicious with fresh ingredients.
Meet up directions were perfect. English was very good. The tour was supposed to start at 6pm, but started at 6:15pm. Nice tour to see what others cannot from the outside of Napoli, but it was rushed so as not to enjoy it as much. Lots of walking & stairs, so wear comfortable shoes. Very tight spaces to get through, about 1 foot at times. Nice little excursion to go on.
The guide that picked us up was very pleasant and spoke excellent english. We had a 20minute drive from hotel to the place of the tour Mario(our guide) pointed out places of interest and historic buildings, very interesting journey. The underground tour guide also spoke excellent english and was very informative. Brilliant tour will recommend to people.
Interesting prospective. It's cold in the catacombs, be prepared! What goes down must come back up! At times you will pass through a very tight passage with only candle light, or the light from your cell phone. All that being said it was the highlight of our Naples experience.
It was a very interesting day in the underground and our tour-guide was good and could tell a lot about the history of the underground. We was satisfied with the tour.
