This trip was a great time! The fire dance was really cool. It's a really nice part of their culture to experience. The temple was nice but be careful for the monkeys, especially if one of the babies are close by. Koko was our driver and he was great! He got us everywhere we needed to go and helped us along the way.

Our driver Gede messaged us in the morning to double check the hotel address and confirm pickup time. Gede was so friendly and very knowledgeable, we even got to stop at a local coffee plantation enroute as we were early. Once at Uluwater Temple, he got our tickets, our sash to wear as we were appropriately dressed regarding temple rules. We then walked around Uluwater Temple and Gede was excellent explaining the hindu beliefs and what the statue meant for the Hindu people. Monkey's were mischievous, yes they stole items if it was not put away The Kacek dance was really good and we managed to get a seat at the front. Yea it was busy, but all in all worth making the trip

Follow the story of this historical dance which embodies the romantic story of love between Rama and Sinta, a mythical giant named Ravana, and a Monkey army, all against the backdrop of the Indian Ocean at sunset.
