There are many shops selling Uji matcha products. the Uji region is a major producer of tea, especially high-quality green teas. You can also find other matcha products such as ice-cream, jelly, bread, noodles, and even beer. You will visit Byodo-in Temple, a world heritage site and is engraved on the 10 Japanese yen coin. The building and golden phoenix are beautiful, and the figure reflected in the pond is extraordinary. You will be left enjoying the beauty, thinking about the paradise that people dreamed of in ancient times. Here you can make your own matcha powder as well as a tea ceremony. Your next stop is Uji Shrine. It is a small yet hidden power spot shrine. There is a saying that if you find 3 rabbits in the shrine, your wish will be granted. The final stop is the Ujigami shrine, another world heritage site in Uji and it is believed to be the oldest standing shrine in Japan.
