From Kigali: 1-Day Gorilla Trekking in Uganda

From Kigali: 1-Day Gorilla Trekking in Uganda

Trek up the mountains of the Mghahinga National Park in Uganda and get the opportunity to see the magnificent mountain gorillas in their natural habitat on a 1-day guided tour from Kigali. Get picked up at 3:00 AM from your hotel in Kigali and travel northwest to Mghahinga National Park for approximately 3 hours. Enjoy breakfast served ala-carte style with a variety of fresh pieces of bread, pastries, and hot and cold selections at a hotel close to the park.   Make a brief stop at the border to clear with customs and then continue to the National Park headquarters to meet your guides for the day. Embark on a once in a lifetime experience of tracking mountain gorillas. The trekking may be fairly strenuous; up to 3 hours or longer at a relatively high altitude.  Tracking the gorillas through the light mountain forest on the slopes of the Virunga is a magical experience. These massive primates are extremely rare, with less than 1000 living today. Once you spot the gorillas you are allowed to spend an hour watching them. You have an opportunity to get within meters of the families. This is perhaps one of the most breath-taking experiences on earth. Return and stop for lunch in town and later proceed to Kigali. If leaving Kigali, you will arrive in time to transfer to the airport for your onward flight, or if time allows, go on a last-minute shopping before departure.

Tour is really great. The main thing that it doesn't include "must see" places which you can easily get by yourself. You just walking in city center. But you can see actual life in Kampala, visit central districts, markets and get into city's ordinary life. Old taxi park is amazing! And you will get a best view what could be hard to find if you go there without tour. I strongly recommend it with combination of visiting main places by yourself or other tour. Guide also professional and polite. You can easily change the route if you want, timing and ask questions. Also i recommend to start your travel in Kampala with this tour and later go deeper. But if it's not your first day here it will be useful anyway Excellent!

Highly recommend 👍👍👍❤️ It was what I exactly wanted to do in Uganda. I really wanted to see how local people live. I could feel the real African culture. Carol, the guide, is the best guide I ever met. She gave me all the opportunities to try everything, building and painting the hut, buying groceries, get the soil from the nature and cooking. If you are interested in African culture and how people live in Uganda, this tour is perfect for you. The local people will teach you the process how build the African hut. Thank Carol for organizing everything💗

Everything was great and according to plan. Brian is amazing. I had a very good time with him. He is a cheerful and well-organized person. He did more than he had to. Apart from that, it was nice to be at the equator, we took photos, ate a delicious local lunch and returned to Kampala. Thank you very much for a successful day of the expedition.

The tour was so great!! Having a guide who is well-read, knows his history and is responsive means so much. I learned so much about Uganda today. And it was fantastic to be guided through various markets. Oh what places. I would never have gone on my own. So grateful for this experience.

The visit to CTC Conservation Centre was excellent. Diana messaged the day before to confirm collection and was very punctual. She was professional throughout the visit. CTC is a must see - the highlight was walking in with the lions!!! Highly recommend this trip.
