Start with pickup from your hotel in Udawalawa in the morning or afternoon, and travel to the Udawalawe National Park. Embark on a 3-hour jeep safari to see the diverse range of animal and bird species that live in the park. The park was created to provide a sanctuary for wild animals displaced by the construction of the Udawalawe Reservoir. Try to spot some of the famous Sri Lankan Elephants who wander freely through the plains and forest. Go in search of other wildlife species including water buffalo, monitor lizards, Sambar deer, crocodiles, and a diverse range of birdlife.
