Tirta Empul: Temple Tour with Optional Spiritual Cleansing

Participate and unique guided temple walk with optional soul purification ritual Tirta Empul, located in Manukaya Village, Tampaksiring District, Gianyar Regency, Bali. Within this complex, there are springs, baths, and pools which are considered sacred by the Balinese Hindu community.

Choose from meeting the guide at Tira Empual's entrance or with Ubud transfers in an air-conditioned car.

Begin the walk by entering the decorative Candi Bentar (temple split gate) and explore Nista Mandala. The zone which connects the temple to the outer world, Nista Mandala holds the entrance to the holy pond. This mandala is marked by a koi pond and Bale Banjar, or temple gathering hall.

Next to Madya Mandala you will find the pools and the pool used for the soul purification and healing ritual. The host will explain to you step by step the local doing the spiritual cleansing, including a meditation that takes place in front of the altar. Witness a local make a prayer to the gods, the water spirits, and their ancestors and place their offer on the altar. Partake with an optional spiritual cleansing experience that can be added on to your tour.

Completed the walk by exploring Utama Mandala, the most sacred space of the temple where the locals will sit down and thank the gods, the water spirits, and their ancestors once again before leaving the temple.
