The excursion went well and has ended. The online staff was very helpful. I would also like to compliment the drivers, who were very good and professional. Our guide was called Bayhan, who turned out to be really SUPER in every way, friendly, smart, knowledgeable, and very professional. I have traveled half the world and done many excursions, but I have never come across such an exceptional guide. Thank you so much again, and see you soon. The excursion went well and has ended. A huge compliment to the tour operators Asli Travel and Standtrips for the smooth organization! We were worried about traveling to Turkmenistan because of the many strict procedures, but the tour operator had organized everything so well that we had no problems at the border. Everything was carried out by our friendly tour guide Merdan. Merdan is a very competent, helpful and humorous tour guide. He is very proud of his country and its people. During our stay we also got a very good impression of Turkmenistan. This country in Central Asia is definitely worth a visit. Tourists have no problems there if you abide by the law and the rules. The locals are very hospitable and honest. In addition to the places listed in the program, Merdan showed us 2 other places and, as his personal photographer, took more than 300 photos of us, which were really good. TIP: definitely visit!!

I arrived to Urgench airport at 8 am and was already late to visit Kunya Urgench. So if you want it, arrive even earlier or a day in advance. The Derweze crater itself was okay. It seems to be finally slowly dying out, less flames than on the internet photos a few years ago. Also the road to get there is very long and rough. I don’t feel the road to the crater was fully worth it tbh, although it’s not the tour provider’s fault. I still had fun seeing a sand storm, some camels along the way, sleeping in a yurt, and spending a day in Ashgabat. And my guide Bagtyyar was were helpful, the driver shared his own tips along the way, and overall I felt very welcomed.
