Turkish Bath, Prizren

Start with a pickup from your hotel or accommodation in Sofia at 8:00 AM. Travel for approximately 3.5 hours to the first destination of the two-day excursion, the city of Skopje, which is the capital of North Macedonia. During the drive, learn the political history of the region.  Upon arrival in Skopje, enjoy a 2-hour city tour with a Macedonian guide. Explore both the old and the new parts of the city, seeing its major landmarks. After the walking tour, enjoy some free time (discuss this with your guide) during which you will have the chance to rest and taste the local cuisine. Afterward, continue the journey to Pristina, the capital of Kosovo, which will take approximately 2 hours. When you reach Pristina enjoy some free time to explore the highlights of the city after which you will travel to the cultural capital of the country, Prizen. Stay overnight in a wonderful hotel in the heart of the city.  On the second day, have breakfast in the hotel followed by a walking tour of Prizen at 8:30 AM. Explore the narrow cobblestone streets and authentic Ottoman buildings. Visit Mehmet Pasha Hamam, the 15th-century stone bridge and the fortress situated high above the city. From here, get a fantastic view of the whole city. This is the last site that we will visit in Prizren. Then we will go back to Skopje (which will take approx. 2.5 hours drive) where we will have some time to relax and have lunch. At 15:00 we will head back to Sofia, where you will be dropped off at the location you want.

On our tour, we will begin at the Stone Bridge and the lively Shadervan square, the heart of Prizren’s social and cultural life. Here, you’ll immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere while taking in the city's Ottoman-era charm. Next, we will visit the magnificent Sinan Pasha Mosque, a stunning example of Islamic architecture. Our journey continues with a visit to the Museum of the Albanian League of Prizren, a must-see for those interested in Albanian history and national identity. We will then head to the Teqeja e Helvetive, a spiritual site deeply tied to Sufi traditions, located near the famous Blacksmith Street. As we explore this area, you’ll also have a chance to admire the old artisan shops that line the street, preserving Prizren’s rich craftsmanship heritage. Afterward, we will explore the historic Orthodox churches of Prizren, including St. George and St. Nicholas. Finally, we will visit the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Succor, an important Catholic landmark in the city.

Afterward, visit the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, a stunning example of religious harmony, where Eastern Orthodox and Catholic traditions meet. You’ll also stroll across the Stone Bridge, an ancient landmark that spans the Lumbardhi River, offering another perspective of the city’s rich past. Next, visit the Albanian League of Prizren, a historic building where, in 1878, the League was formed to protect the rights of Albanians in the region. Discover the important role it played in the national movement and Kosovo’s history. Step into history at the Gazi Mehmet Pasha Hamam, one of the oldest and best-preserved Ottoman bathhouses in the region. Experience the elegance of 16th-century Ottoman design as you explore its domed chambers and learn about its role in Prizren’s social and cultural life. Then, visit the UNESCO World Heritage site, Our Lady of Ljeviš, an exquisite 14th-century church known for its stunning frescoes and historical importance.
