Get off the beaten track and discover the oasis of Ksar Ghilane. Enjoy scenic views as you travel along the Roman road, and keep an eye out for flocks of sheep and even camels. Visit local villages and savor a freshly made tea at a local's home. After pickup at your hotel, leave the island of Djerba and travel to Ksar Ghilane. Upon arrival, take a swim in the thermal spring nestled amid a grove of date palms. Relax completely in water that's warm enough to be utterly soothing yet still offers respite from the desert heat. Next, enjoy some free time to take a walk on the dunes, go for a camel ride, or explore the dunes on a quad tour before sitting down to a local meal around the hot spring. After lunch, return to the jeep and head to the Berber village of Matmata. Stop in the village of Tamazret, a village flooded in 1969 where only a few families still live. Continue to discover a troglodyte home where your Berber host will welcome you with a warming tea of rosemary, olive oil, and honey that he has prepared himself. After this meeting, make your way to Djerba with a final stop at Toujane, a Berber village of ocher color hidden discreetly between two mountains.

Day 1: Your tour will begin as you depart from your hotel to Tataouine. You will then begin by crossing Roman Road, the structure that connects the island to continental Africa. You will then take a break at the salt lake of Chahbania to enjoy the view and to take photos. Following this, you will enjoy a 40-minute stroll in the streets of Tataouine's market to discover the Berber products and spices for sale. You will then head to the village of Chenini, where you will enjoy a walk to discover it with a local guide. At midday, you will taste the flavors of a local meal in a Berber restaurant. Following lunch, you will cross the Erg (or the desert of rocks) and head to Ksar Ghilane. Upon your arrival you can enjoy a swim in its natural water spray, in an area located between the greenery of the oasis and the yellow color of the sand dunes. Whilst at this location there will also be the possibility of taking a camel ride tour or a quad-bike tour of the dunes (not included). By the end of the day, you will go to your camp to enjoy one of the best sunsets of Southern Tunisia. At the camp, you will have a tent, be able to take a shower, and can also experience the preparation of "sand bread" just before dinner. Following dinner, you will enjoy free time to admire the starry sky in the silence of the desert. Day 2: Following breakfast, you will head to Matmata, the troglodyte village. Your first stop will be to the Berber village of Tamazret, where you can taste an "amandes" tea. Following the break, you will visit a Berber family at their underground house, where you will enjoy an authentic local lunch. Following lunch you will head to Sidi Idriss, a troglodyte hotel where some scenes of the Star Wars film had been shot, and where we can still find some film decor. The final visit of the day will be to the Berber village of Toujane, which is hidden between two mountains and famous for handmade carpets and honey. At the end of the day, you will be returned safely to your hotel with a head full of great memories.

After pickup from your hotel, stop to admire the Roman road that connects the island to the mainland. Continue to the Berber village of Guellala, before visiting an old pottery workshop and a museum of arts and local culture. Next up, you'll cross Berber villages to reach El Ghriba synagogue, the oldest synagogue in Africa. Visit a village made famous for its graffiti after the Djerbahood street art project, before heading in the direction of Houmt Souk, the capital of Djerba. Wander through a colorful market filled with fresh fish, spices, vegetables, and fruits. Visit a covered souk to appreciate the work of local craftsmen, then continue to a weaving workshop, where you'll enjoy a demonstration along with a cup of green tea. At the end of the tour, you'll be dropped off back at your hotel.

Treat yourself to an afternoon at the Djerba Explore Park during your visit to Djerba. The park is divided into five parts: a village composed of charming streets and squares, a leisure area filled with restaurants and shops, and three attraction modules. Of the latter three modules, the first is the Lalla Hadria Museum, a museum of international stature thanks to its high-quality design and first-rate collection of around 1,000 pieces of Tunisian and Arab-Muslim art. The second attraction is the Conservatory of Djerbian Heritage, which consists of reconstructed traditional workshops for weaving, pottery, and oil production, as well as real craftsmen displaying their work.  The crocodile farm is the highlight of the park. Filled with nearly 400 Nile crocodiles from Madagascar, watch as they bask in the sun or wade through the water to cool off in the tropical greenhouse. A guided tour is included with entry, but the main attraction is the crocodile feeding, which takes place several times a week.

Stop first in Khalfallah to visit an oil mill during the olive harvest season, or at the sand dunes of the Chahbania. Continue to Tataouine and take some time exploring the market and downtown. Proceed to Cenini, a village topped by a rocky ridge and home to an old mosque. Come mid-day, enjoy lunch at the Kenza Chenini or a similar restaurant before embarking on a guided tour of the Berber village.
