What people are saying about Tunis

Tour started at about 730am, an hour earlier than advertised. Other than that, everything was smooth. My tour guide Lotfi, who was fluent in English (moderately strong accent, but still understandable) and a bunch of other languages, has been giving tours of Tunisia for decades and his experience showed. Very knowledgeable and willing to answer questions. In Kairouan we stopped at the tourist center briefly to get passes, then briefly saw the ruins of a Roman shipyard, visited a mausoleum, before going to the famous mosque, which was beautiful and interesting to learn about. The mandatory carpet shop visit was bearable, shop owners weren't as pushy as I expected and I was able to leave without buying any carpets. El Jem was very impressive! Lotfi explained the history and then let me explore by myself. On the way back to Tunis, I wanted to by a t-shirt before I left the country and Lotfi was accommodating enough to bring me to a store before we returned to the hotel.

Our guide Fehmi and driver Haatim were punctual & very friendly. They kept us engaged the whole time. As others have said, there's a lot of driving in this trip but that's just because of the distances involved. Our car was very comfortable though. The change in scenery as you go outside Tunis is amazing. Both Fehmi & Haatim kept us up to date with the traditions of the areas we passed through. Our visits to both the old city of Kairouan & El Jem were brilliant in their own ways. Fehmi was very helpful in telling us about the histories & the vantage points for pictures etc. Lunch was a set menu affair at a recently built hotel in El Jem. We only had to pay for drinks. A great day out, highly recommended.

Interesting combination of sites, old Medina and Roman remains.

Travelling South of Tunis it is interesting for seeing the nature, which is quite green and endless olive groves. Interesting combination of sites, old Muslim town with Medina and big mosque, and later on huge remains of Roman amphitheatre. Good lunch in El Jem. Driver was very good, but have in mind that you have to spend some four hours in the car.

This was the perfect way to experience these two places. Hassen (our guide) was so knowledgeable and funny. His anecdotes brought history to life! The logistics were painless, with the driver Mickey and Hassen arriving on time to my hotel in Gammarth, then stopping any time I wanted to take a photo or ask a question.

This tour was amazing. We enjoyed not only visiting historic sites but exposures to local food and people. The guide and driver were very friendly and showed great hospitality. They gave us flexibility under limited time of visit. We felt totally happy with the whole tour.
