8. Ko Lanta: Mangrove Kayaking, Ko Talabeng, Visit Skull Island
Take part in an introduction to sea kayaking which is perfect for guests who want to explore Lanta East Bay from Ko Lanta Yai at their own pace. And depart early in the morning in a long-tail boat. This full-day kayak trip from Ko Lanta starts in the morning to avoid the crowds, with a convenient pickup service by minibus from all hotels of Lanta Island. • 08.00 am Get pickup from the hotel. • 09.00 am Circumvent Lanta Noi and head to Yang Island at Thung Yee Peng village for the first kayaking stop. There you will try hard-shell kayaking at the most spectacular spots on the planet. • 09.30 am. Your guide will provide you with basic kayaking instructions so you can paddle your own kayak in shallow water canals, or you can alternately opt to paddle a double kayak with a guide. The mangrove forest is a unique and important ecosystem, home to a variety of plants and animals. As you paddle through the forest, you'll see towering mangrove trees, crabs, mudskippers, and birds of all kinds. • 11.00 – 12.30 am. Continue to Oung Island to relax for a while and then take a long-tail boat to Ko Talabeng for the second stop for sea kayaking into the caves when high tide and 12.30 pm. Enjoy lunch on the beach at Ko Talabeng Noi. • 14.00 pm. Afterward, hop on the longtail boat to sightseeing and photo stop at Skull Island [Local people call it Ko Phee]. • 16.00 pm. End of the day our long-tail boat will be heading back to Lanta Old Town pier and transferring back to the hotel.
