Tulum: Private Snorkel and Sailing Experience

We went on the mid-afternoon sail with just us and our guide Santiago. He and other staff were very friendly and quickly set us up with a life jacket and dry bag so we could get underway. It was a lovely day with the perfect amount of wind! We sailed by a lot of boats chugging gas and were grateful for our little boat with no motor. Santiago shared information about the reef and the city's history along the way, and brought us to a fairly shallow area to snorkel. We followed his lead in the water and he pointed out all the different fish, conch shells, coral, and other interesting things to see in several different reef areas where we moored. After snorkeling, he took us past the Tulum ruins and stopped for us to take pictures and enjoy the view. We loved that this tour included both sailing and snorkeling and wasn't a huge time commitment. It was one of our favorites! The max number of passengers is 6 plus captain so you'll always be guaranteed a small your. Highly recommend!

I cannot say enough great things about our experience with Capitan Alexander and Guide Dedear. Not only were they exceptionally professional and experienced, but they were so friendly and spoke perfect English, which was critical to our experience as we are not native Spanish speakers. I truly hope the owners appreciate what wonderful employees these guys are. These gentlemen are as this excursion was one of our favorite activities during our entire stay in Tulum. Alexander was such an impressive captain and the way he and Dedear interacted was truly impressive. These fine gentleman deserve a raise!!! We enjoyed how hard they worked for us and the history they provided. The snorkeling and sailing was AMAZING!
