From here, drive for 3.5 hours to Skjervoy to meet your guide. Once in Skjervoy, receive a warm flotation suit before getting into the RIB. Then, set off on a 2.5-hour whale watching excursion in the Kvaenangen Fjord. Marvel at the natural scenery and keep your eyes peeled for orcas and humpback whales, as well as other local wildlife. Bus ride to Skjervoy was smooth with driver going out of his way to get everyone set up with tea/coffee/water before we set off. In terms of the boat ride itself, unfortunately it looks as though we were the last tour of the season and there was no whales to be seen. The boat guides were a bit abrupt borderline rude but fairly well organised to get everyone geared up with warm suits and boots etc. Very hard to hear the guide speak when on the boat so sit up the front if you can. I'm sure it would have been a great experience if we had seen any whales but to be honest I feel just like I wasted alot of money. Be warned that it is very cold so layer as much as you can with warm and waterproof clothes as you will get a little wet from the salt spray. Bus ride back to Skjervoy included taking 2 ferries - this wasn't explained why it was a different route to the morning but it was a nice addition to travel through the fjord as the sun set.

Cool boat with an extreme fun factor. In the last few minutes we finally saw orcas - an absolute highlight. Our guide was super nice and told a lot and even overstayed a few minutes when we spotted the orcas. Unfortunately, it was just a bit hectic at the beginning. But otherwise highly recommended!

The weather unexpectedly changed and by the time we got there it was quite the snow storm! We got into the boat and did a little drive anyways but then went back and the guides had us wait a bit to see if it’d clear up. Unfortunately it didn’t, but being in a snowy storm in the middle of the fjord was overal quite impressive and the weather change not the tour’s fault. We got to experience a very cleared up and nice weather on the drive back though and it was nice to see it. Also got to take the ferry twice on the way back, was unexpected but nice view. Due to the last min change we got a 50% refund which we both think was fair. Unfortunately weather can never be 100% sure! The team was very nice and preferred for us to be warm and safe.
