This was so incredible and we saw 12 humpback whales! The crew made the trip incredible - Becca and Bee were a delight inside the boat. They do great presentations to keep you engaged in your journey - it’s about 4 hours to the feeding area, 1 hour watching, and 4 hours back. Our captain was Franklin and he really booked it each time he sighted a pod, steering the ship quickly to get there. We were so impressed. ABSOLUTELY take anti-nausea pills even if you think you’ll be fine. One about 20 minutes before boarding, one about 4 hours in. There’s a good rough patch going between the fjords. We are boat people, and were so thankful we listened to reviewers. Get to the dock early - for our 8am, we were there at 7:40am and there was a good line. You want to get there early to get a seat quickly as everyone stays in their seat both ways mostly and everyone’s respectful of that. Pack light snacks. But, overall, just do this and support a great company!
Giving 5 stars because we had incredible, once in a life time encounters where we watched a pod of orcas hunt/toy with 2 small sea birds right off the side of the boat, and then they approached the boat to check us out and even peered up at us out of the water - we heard them vocalizing! It was magical. If not for the incredible sightings, I’d give 4/4.5 stars. The seating inside of the boat is an issue, with people spreading out and putting their bags on seats, meaning atleast 1/4 passengers end of not having seats inside the heated cabins. On the way back a crew member saw me freezing my butt off outside and made it a point to find my husband and I seats inside, which I was very grateful for. Food & drinks are not included with the price, as they are on some other boats, which to me made the overall price feel too high. My advice to couples & families is show up to the meeting spot very very early so you’re early to board & can find seats together.
