Full description
Set sail on a hybrid electric catamaran cruise for the Arctic waters and observe marine animals in their natural habitat. Watch orcas and humpback whales feed in the icy fjords and admire the stunning landscapes around you. Depart from Tromsø in the morning, and head out to where the whales are in time to enjoy the short hours of daylight. Take in the breathtaking views of frozen landscapes in comfortable, panoramic lounges, and multi-level decks. Find a selection of food and drinks for purchase on board. Sail for about 3 to 3.5 hours to reach the whales and spend about 1 to 1.5 hours with them. The boat uses a hybrid engine to reach their feeding grounds. As you near the whales, the captain will switch to a silent electric engine that allows you to get close without disturbing them. Note: Please bring warm cloths, including your wool and equivalent. We sail in the arctic waters, and its cold, especially out at sea. Our saloons are heated and comfortable, but its cold outside.
Includes

  • Heated indoor saloons with panoramic windows

Vielen Dank!Wasser und Kaffee gab es übrigens for free. Also in unserem Fall: 100%ige Empfehlung:-)

The guides explained clearly what to expect. They provided interesting presentations during the journey about the geological history of the area and lots of information about wales. The journey was quite long but the scenery was stunning. The light changes were magical and this made the trip worthwhile. The wales were an added bonus. The catamaran never got too close but we always had a good view and saw lots of orcas including a young one. It was a larger vessel than I had initially realised but was purposely designed so that there were excellent views inside and out. On our trip there were 110 people but the boat had capacity for 150. I think 110 was fine but more might of made it feel crowded. Our ticket did not include food so we took sandwiches. There was food available to purchase but those with tickets which included food went first. This system seemed to work no one was left hungry but as a back up I would take food.

Guides were really enthusiastic and funny in telling stories and inform us. We were lucky and saw lots of orcas, one very close big fin whale and a bit far away a humpback whale showing his tail fin. Fjord tour itself was also very nice despite the cloudy sky! Tour fully recommended
