Full description

Set sail on a hybrid electric catamaran cruise for the Arctic waters and observe marine animals in their natural habitat. Watch orcas and humpback whales feed in the icy fjords and admire the stunning landscapes around you.

Depart from Tromsø in the morning, and head out to where the whales are in time to enjoy the short hours of daylight. Take in the breathtaking views of frozen landscapes in comfortable, panoramic lounges, and multi-level decks. Find a selection of food and drinks for purchase on board.

Sail for about 3 to 3.5 hours to reach the whales and spend about 1 to 1.5 hours with them. The boat uses a hybrid engine to reach their feeding grounds. As you near the whales, the captain will switch to a silent electric engine that allows you to get close without disturbing them.

We were lucky and saw fin whales and orcas that day. Unfortunately only from a great distance, which is unavoidable with this size of ship. The drive there and back is very long, reading material or music helps. You get good instructions and explanations from the crew, there is also a buffet if you need anything. With us, the sea tw was very rough, if you are not seaworthy, you should think twice. I had no problem and the captain navigated really well, but heads were in bags to the right and left... a little tip - the view is better up there, but the sea is stronger

We did the excursion at the end of January, so the end of the season to see whales and killer whales. We didn't see any whales or orcas. It takes nearly 4 hours by boat out and 4 hours back and no more than 1h30 on site. The boat is fine with and the crew great. Just a shame to do the cruises at the end of the season knowing that there is little chance of seeing any.

Amazing experience, highly recommended. The guides were really nice and helpful. Although the journey to the location was long (about 3 hours) it was made very interesting by the guide giving us a presentation about the whales and their history. We managed to see a couple of orcas which made the day even better! Definitely worth doing this tour!
