We went on this trip in Jan ‘23 and were lucky enough to see whales despite it being the end of the season. The scenery was breathtakingly stunning and the transit time to get to where the whales are (around 3 hours) honestly went pretty quickly with the amazing views en route. Many reviews on here saying the travel time to see the whales is too long and that too many people got seasick… I’m surprised people don’t realise that whales do not live close to the port and that the sea can be rocky and cause seasickness… 😅😅 my partner did feel unwell with the motion of the boat but this is one of the risks of travelling in a small vessel on an ocean! Hot drinks and snacks always available, hot soup was delicious, we walked away really happy with our day!

The guide (Bulgarian guy I don't remember his name) was very kind and friendly with us. The route takes about an hour to go up and an hour to go down (there are some rocks so you need trekking shoes). The route is doable and at the top you can enjoy a fabulous view. On the way down we took a different path and he took us to see the reindeer very close! The good weather made everything easier! The time indicated is real including transport (with a panoramic view along the way) trekking, lunch, professional photos taken by him, descent and return.

Thanks to our guide we were able to see the Northern Lights, a beautiful experience. The hot chocolate and marshmallows around the fire were pleasant. We recommend that you wrap up very well because you will spend a lot of time standing outside at night.

I was a bit dubious at first because we drove to one location which was cloudy and set up camp. But luckily we moved on and started seeing the lights. It was my birthday that evening and I felt so lucky to experience that. Guide was great!

The guide was awesome and very knowledgeable the hike and the view was incredible, a little more to eat and drink would have been great otherwise an awesome experience 😊 🇦🇺
