Full description

Go in search of the magnificent Northern Lights on a guided photography tour by a custom-built 4x4 van. Discover remote scenery within the Arctic Circle as you try to capture this spectacular natural phenomenon. Meet in central Tromsø and set out into the wilderness in search of the Northern Lights. Upon reaching suitable skies, set up camp for the evening. Most of the time this is a shorter drive to the surrounding coastal islands of Tromsø, or if needed, a longer drive into Finland.

Some nights the Northern Lights are visible en route to the camp location, and can last throughout the evening. Other nights require patience and positivity, for you to witness a faint glow across the horizon. Enjoy the serene surroundings of the camp in warm thermal clothing. Gather around the roaring campfire, and enjoy a locally made expedition meal, cookies, and hot beverages with your fellow travelers. You guide will help you capture vibrant moments of you and the Aurora. If you choose to bring your own camera they can offer help and advice on how to get the most out of your photographs. All images will be shared with you the very next day after your excursion.

It started slow but our guide found a great location and after some time the night lit up and it was magical. Nikola was great in his explanation of the phenomenon. It was like a movie, as soon as the guide finished his explanation the northern lights lit up the sky in all the colors. We couldn’t believe how beautiful it was. The network the guides used to find great locations is good. The thermal suit was a must and provided. Just make sure your boots are insulated and warm. Overall, wonderful experience!

I had an amazing time! The lights were out for a long time and I got some amazing images! You never know how the Aurora is going to act and she came out in the last couple hours and really gave a great show! So grateful for the warm clothing provided, and fire!

Amazing tour. Our guide George is very passionate and knowledgable about what we the tourist are looking for. He checked on the satellite signal of the solar activity as well as the weather forecast, and bring us to a location that which he guess which got a big chance to see the light. And on the way he still checking on the cloud condition with his trained eyes. He even suggest we may skip a toilet bring first to arrive the destination sooner in order to get prepare for the arrival of the light. It turns out all his prediction were correct. It was quite cloudy in the city and when we arrive the location it was clear sky. And in ~10 mins after we settle the light started showing up, even with red/purple light that can be seen in naked eyes. We were lucky but it also because of the professional-ness of the guide that make all this happened. And he is also a good photographer too. 10/10 would recommand.
