Enjoy a magical experience feeding reindeer in Tromsø and have an unforgettable day visiting a ranch. Tuck into a tasty home-cooked meal, listen to folk songs and hear stories about the Arctic wilderness.

Depart Tromsø and travel to a nearby ranch where you will have the chance to feed a herd of around 300 wild reindeer. Marvel as the friendly animals swarm around you and eat straight from your hands. Learn more about the Sami culture of the Arctic. They have been living and working on this land for centuries and have only recently invited guests to be part of their daily lives.

Get invited inside a typical game (hut) and be served warm drinks and a traditional meal that has been cooked over the fire (vegetarian option available). Then, gather around the fire at a traditional Sami lavuu (tent) to listen to stories about their culture. Hear what it is like to live as a reindeer herder, and watch a performance of a traditional joik (song) before making your way back to Tromsø.

Excellent trip - our Sami guide Elizabeth was brilliant, so welcoming and with a great sense of humour too, and a great opportunity to learn about Sami culture. The reindeer were wonderful, you have loads of time to feed, photograph and watch them (and pet the tame ones) - and for those who wanted to (if you paid extra) you can do a short sled ride. Lunch included a veggie option which was great - I didn't see that offered on the other tours (though maybe not advertised). Our coach broke down on way back but after a while we go a replacement so all good

With a big bus we went to the reindeer. That put us off a bit at first, but there was really no feeling of mass processing on site. You could spend a lot of time with the reindeer. We also thought it was great that you could drink as much coffee/tea/cocoa as you wanted. So you could always sit down on a reindeer skin and simply enjoy. The food was also very, very good. The stories about the Sami from a Sami were also very exciting and very humorous. We were completely satisfied.

very good organization for this visit to a Sami farm with their herd of reindeer. Free time with the reindeer in the field, then lunch served in a Sami hut warmed by a good wood fire, then presentation of the reindeer herding activity by a Sami and presentation of the Sami culture. it was a nice moment.
