Full description

Join an evening boat cruise from Tromsø and experience the Aurora Borealis. Watch as the city lights fade and enter the serene darkness of the fjords. Cozy up in the sauna or enjoy the outdoor jacuzzi as you watch.

Depart from the harborside of Kystens Hus in Tromsø center. Leaving the harbor, the guide will give you safety instructions and show you around the ship. Stay on the lookout for any signs of the Northern Lights while sailing.

The course of the tour will depend on the weather forecast, and the cloud-free sky will define if you are going to see the Northern Lights. When the sky is clear and starry around Tromsø city, you don't need to travel far to watch the Northern Lights.

The right settings are a dark location, starry sky, and previous solar storms. Once the conditions are right, the captain will slow down the boat, slowly drifting along with the current. Set up your camera with your guide, watch the Northern Lights dance, and snap photos.

Finally, float gently back to the harbor of Tromsø where your tour will finish.

When you get the chance to experience something as wonderful as the Aurora borealis you should grab hold of the opportunity as we (my brother and I ) did. It was surreal, magnificent and something that we will cherish forever. The overall journey was quite pleasant and the staff were helpful throughout the journey.

I booked the tour 2 days in advance and this worked wonderfully. Finding a parking space in Tromso was a bit difficult (due to some roadblocks) but has nothing to do with the tour. However, you should plan some time for it in order not to be late for the boat. There was a short, quick briefing on board (life jackets for emergencies, warm drinks, etc.). Then we started and we sailed out of the port of Tromso in a good wind. It was a starry night so it didn't take long for Mattheo to find the aurora. There is a star deduction because there wasn't really an explanation about the aurora - unless you asked directly. The thermal suits were also only distributed on request. So at first I didn't even know what to look for when I looked at the sky. Despite the many surrounding lights of the Tromso skyline, we had very good views of the aurora and hopefully a good photo/two.

Great boat with really good facilities. The hot tub was really good fun. The stars were stunning and the northern lights amazing- we stayed out much later than advertised to let them build up and got a great show. The boat was really spacious and there weren’t too many people on it. Friendly staff also made a big difference. Thank you!
