What to Expect
Hike along the Path of Health, through the Trogir countryside and the Seget Riviera, on this 4.5-hour tour. See Napoleon’s Path and the medieval Church of St. Elijah on Sutilija Hill, from where you’ll have breathtaking views of the Seget valley and the Dalmatian islands of Drvenik, Šolta, Brač, Hvar, and Vis.
Your hiking experience begins in the center of Trogir, near the wooden bridge. You’ll join the path that takes you through the countryside of Trogir and to the Seget Riviera. The path is named after Napoleon who ruled in Dalmatia from 1806 until 1814. During that time, many roads were built connecting the Dalmatian coast with the hinterland.
This road was built in 1807 by order of Napoleon’s marshal, the commander for Dalmatia, Mormont, and Damdol. The road has been used for years not only as a walking trail, but also as a road for horse-drawn vehicles going from Trogir inland, and vice versa. After the new road was built, the old one became neglected.
The road has been transformed into the Path of Health because of its historical importance and its location. It hasn't changed much since the time it was built.
Not far from this trail, the Roman path begins, taking you along the valley of the Draga River and connecting to the first path in Seget Gornji. The duration of the actual hike is approximately 3 hours.
