Tremezzina: Villa Del Balbianello Park Entry Ticket

Tremezzina: Villa Del Balbianello Park Entry Ticket

Villa del Balbianello was bequeathed to FAI by Guido Monzino in 1988. Perched on the edge of the wooded peninsula of Lavedo jutting out over the Lake Como, the Villa offers a wide panorama, which makes it one of the most spectacular estates in the area. The construction of the building was commissioned by Cardinal Durini, a scholar and patron of the arts, who, at the end of the 18th century, saw this peaceful corner as the ideal venue for exclusive literary retreats. Villa del Balbianello was brought back to its original vocation in modern times, when Guido Monzino, entrepreneur, collector and passionate traveler, chose it to preserve the memories of his adventures, which include being the first Italian to climb Mount Everest, with impeccable order and exquisite taste. Maps, travel tools, books, furniture items, as well as precious and peculiar collections of ancient and primitive art objects, evoke the life and deeds of their owner: everything is still arranged according to his will, including the relics and souvenirs of his mountaineering exploits displayed in the fascinating Museum of Expeditions. In accordance to his wishes, FAI has been managing the Villa since 1988, preserving its spirit and taking care of its magnificent garden. Trees pruned into unusual shapes, romantic views, avenues lined with statues, panoramic terraces and abundant blooms surround an ascending path leading to the 18th century Loggia Durini, which crowns the whole Balbianello complex and offers the visitors two different panoramas of the Lake.

We loved every place we have visited. Giussi was great, she had great stories and all the nice jokes and the time we spent in transit to each place passed by easily. We appreciated the freedom we had to explore at our own pace and the cruise on Lake Como was the perfect ending to a beautiful trip. Highly recommend booking this one if you like to be an independent traveller, but also enjoy having a structure to your day. The day went by really smooth and pleasant, I liked the fact that we had radios and well presented meeting points so it was really easy to follow and hear the guide when needed. The schedule was presented to us since the very beginning so we knew how the day was going to look like. They were punctual with the departure and we were given an approximative timeframe for arrival back home, too. Overall a really beautiful day with lots of pretty places and nice information on the places we’ve seen.

This tour was perfect in every way. Lina, our guide, was extremely organized and knowledgeable! What I liked most about her was that she shared lots of interesting information about the area but didn't talk nonstop. I've been on tours where the guide talked for 3 hours straight and it's exhausting. Lake Como and Lugano are absolutely stunning and having 1+ hour at each location to walk around and check out the shops and restaurants was nice.

It was a great day with our friendly and knowledgeable guide Ms. Antonella . We had a brief walk in Como and a beautiful boat cruise for 2 hours on lake Como over looking beautiful Villas and Ms. Antonella would explain us the history and showed us beautiful villas with its significance. It was a great day with her and ofcourse seamless with her expertise.

We Enjoyed seeing all the villas, tours of Como, Bellagio & Verrena Also lunch at the Suisse was excellent It would have been nice to be able to spend a little more time at each of our stops

It was beautiful and amazing, your guide was also very funny and informative. Would rate 100 over 10.
