Start with a visit to the Basilica of Saint-Sernin, constructed in a Romanesque style between 1080 and 1120. Marvel at the quality of the many sculptures at the largest remaining Romanesque building in Europe, and discover why it was added to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites list as part of the "World Heritage Sites of the Routes of Santiago de Compostela" in 1998.
Then, visit the large brick building of the Church of the Jacobins, built over a century in the Gothique Méridional (southern Gothic) style. Learn how it received the body of Thomas Aquinas (Saint Thomas D'Aquino) from Pope Urban V in 1368 to encourage pilgrims and the up-keep of the church. Hear how it was used by Napoleon as a stable for his horses during his war campaigns.
Next, visit Hôtel d'Assézat before ending at the Capitole de Toulouse. Admire the 8 columns of the marble facade, built according to plans by Guillaume Cammas Caunes-Minervois to symbolize the first 8 sheriffs of Toulouse.
