We have hundreds of villages in Provence, they have all their own atmosphere and style. They are all beautiful. Unfortunately, the most known are very crowded during the high season and you can’t find local people there. During this day, I want you to discover the authentic Provance, I want you to feel the history of old rocks, to cross an old man having his Pastis at 11 am, a lady going for her baguette, children coming back from school..local people chilling outside. I want you to feel how it is living here. But we will start this day by a real come back to the past. I don’t know if you know that after the death of Jesus, Mary Magdalene moved to France. The place where she lived is only 45 minutes way from Aix-en-Provence or Marseille, on the top of the Sainte Baume massif. I will let you have a 45 min walk to visit this incredible place where she spent her last 33 years. The landscape there is really amazing and worth to see! I am sure you will feel this special, spiritual atmosphere there. Just close your eyes, breath and imagine that you are actually in Mary Magdalene’s house.. After you come back a glass of local rosé will wait for you. Than we will take a small road, through mountains and vines fields, to Sainte-Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume. This is a medium size, coloured Provencal town, not touched by mass tourism. You will have enough of free time there to discover some boutiques, have a lunch in a local restaurant and visit the basilica where you will find the tomb of Mary Magdalene and even her skull ! I will pick you up than we will go to one of the most beautiful vines valley in the region, surrounded by several massifs, where we will have few stops next to Sainte Victoire mountain. We'll arrive to a little hilltop village where the time has literally stopped. You will have a little walk there and then I propose you to have a game of pétanque, in the shade of platanes in the main square of the village...just like locals do !
