Tortuga Bay, Puerto Ayora

Day 1 - San Cristobal island.- You will fly to the Galapagos Islands to San Cristobal. Here you will be met at the airport and taken to your hotel in Puerto Baquerizo Moreno. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure. Day 2 - Snorkeling tour to Kicker Rock.- You will be picked up at the hotel and taken to the dock. From here, a day tour to the rocky island of Kicker Rock begins. Snorkel and immerse yourself in the fantastic underwater world. Kicker Rock is considered one of the best diving and snorkeling spots, as you can see lots of colorful fish here and turtles, giant rays, and hammerhead sharks. Afterward, you will visit a secluded beach in Puerto Grande before returning to the dock. Day 3 - Navigation to Santa Cruz – Primicias Farm and Tortuga Bay Beach.- Early in the morning, you will be taken to the dock and travel by speedboat from San Cristobal to the island of Santa Cruz to Puerto Ayora, where you will be met. You will then head into the highlands to the Primicias tortoise farm, which you will visit with a guide. The driver will be waiting for you during the tour and then take you back to the hotel. In the afternoon, take a short hike on your own to the well-signposted beach of Tortuga Bay. Day 4 - Academy Bay Tour / Navigation to Isabela.- You will be picked up at the hotel and taken to the dock. You will take part in a tour through the bay of Puerto Ayora, on which you will get to know the beaches “Playa de los Alemanes”, “Playa de Perros”, the rocky gorge “Las Grietas” and the shark-fish channel. You will be back in the dock around midday. In the afternoon, you will be picked up again at the hotel and taken to the dock. At 3:00 pm, you will take the speedboat (approx. 2.5 hours) to Isabela. You will be met at the dock of Isabela and taken to your hotel. Day 5 - Hiking tour to the Sierra Negra.- You will be picked up from your hotel into the highlands of the island to the Sierra Negra volcano. You will reach the crater of the still active volcano and, in good weather, have a fantastic view of the other volcanoes. Back in the village, you still have plenty of time to enjoy the sea and the beach. Day 6 - Snorkeling tour in “Los Tuneles”.- Today you will take a boat tour along the coast to Cabo Rosa. You will take a short walk on land and can see Galapagos penguins and blue-footed boobies. Afterward, you will snorkel at a selected spot where sea turtles, white-tip sharks and seahorses can be seen. After that you will return to Puerto Villamil. Day 7 – Navigation to Santa Cruz - Departure.- You will be picked up from your hotel early in the morning and taken to the dock. A speedboat will take you back to Santa Cruz, where you will be met at the dock of Puerto Ayora and taken to the north side of Santa Cruz Island to the Itabaca Channel. Here you will take the ferry to the other side of the Itabaca Channel, and from here you will take the bus to the Baltra airport. Your return flight will take you to Quito or Guayaquil.

Day 1 Arrive at the airport of Baltra Island and meet the National Park guides, followed by a transfer to Santa Cruz. Check in at your hotel and in the afternoon visit the Charles Darwin Scientific Station and the Interpretation Center of the Galapagos National Park. Day 2 Head to the stunning Turtle Bay Beach, a postcard-worthy beach with white sand and azure sea. Stop to observe the marine life, iguanas, and many other wildlife species Travel next to a private ranch, where you will be able to see the protected giant turtles living in their natural habitat. Finally, the adventure will conclude with a hike through the underground lava tunnels. Day 3 The Bahia Tour covers 5 different sites around Bahia Academia, located in the canton of Santa Cruz, taking 10 minutes to the first stop. We will pick you up from your hotel to the Santa Cruz Highlands, which is probably the most visited area in the Galapagos. This area concentrates vast extensions of forests of Scalesia, Miconia, and giant tortoises. This is a great place to observe these iconic animals in their natural habitat. After lunch at this local farm, we will visit the twin craters of the Galapagos, it is a rewarding visit for nature-loving tourists. The lush green landscape of the highlands stands in stark contrast to the more arid coastlines of the lowlands, providing a very different Galapagos experience. Lookouts over the crater sinkholes show off the stunning scenery, and there are plenty of interesting birds too. Later we will move to Tortuga Bay, which is a white sand beach located on the south coast of the island of Santa Cruz. Enjoy a 2-hour walk (round trip) to this beautiful beach that is perfectly preserved and with the presence of animals such as iguanas and beach crabs. You have the opportunity to swim in the mangrove swamp that is separated from the beach.

Pick up from your hotel. You will take a small road 2,500 meters long up to the access to Tortuga Bay. Enjoy a 2-hours hike (both ways) up to this beautiful beach which is perfectly preserved, and with the presence of wild animals such as iguanas, beach crabs. Only swim in the mangrove that is separated from the beach, kayak on the beach (optional) Tortuga Bay is a white sand beach located on the south coast of the island of Santa Cruz. After lunch, you will visit the Charles Darwin Research Station where you will have the opportunity to learn about Galapagos conservation in action. Over 200 scientists and volunteers are involved with research and conservation efforts here. Return to your hotel.

Day 5: Public speedboat to Isabela Island. Visit Tintoreras Islet to see marine iguanas, sea lions, and possibly white-tip reef sharks. Snorkel at La Calera, then enjoy free time at the beach in the afternoon. Day 6: Choose one afternoon activity: - Visit Tortoise Breeding Center & Wetlands (transportation & medium walk) - Visit Sierra Negra Volcano (4-hour hike) - Visit Cocha Perla & snorkel (taxi ride & snorkeling) Morning free to relax. Day 7: Visit the famous TUNELES via speedboat. Morning bike ride to Tortoise Breeding Center & wetlands to see birds. Enjoy a walk around lava formations and lunch on board. Afternoon snorkeling with diverse marine life before returning to the hotel. Day 8: Early morning flight from Isabela to Baltra, then connect to your local flight back to Guayaquil.

Day 1: Transfer in – Baltra – Charles Darwin Research Station Arrival at the Galápagos airport. Transfer to Puerto Ayora on Santa Cruz Island, arrival, and accommodation at the hotel. Your first stop is the Charles Darwin Research Station. Before you begin the walk, your guide will explain the location of the hotel. As you start the walk, pass by the fishermen's dock, where you can see marine iguanas, sea lions, pelicans, and frigatebirds. Continue your journey to the Charles Darwin Station, where you can observe endemic birds and vegetation and see tortoises of all ages, from the smallest to those as old as 155 years. Return to the hotel. Day 2: Tortuga Bay – Highlands – Lava Tunnels – Twin Craters Visit the beautiful Tortuga Bay Beach, famous for its landscape, with a stunning white-sand beach where you can swim and observe endemic birds. Here, you can see sea turtles and marine iguanas. Return to the hotel. In the afternoon, head to the Highlands of Santa Cruz to visit the Twin Craters, which are amazing volcanic formations surrounded by lush endemic vegetation. Then, visit the ranch, where you can observe giant tortoises in their natural habitat. After a short and easy walk, visit the lava tunnels, where your guide will talk about the reproduction of giant tortoises and the origin of the island's internal tunnels. Return to the hotel. Day 3: Playa de Alemanes – Salt Mines – The Cracks After breakfast, head to the dock to begin your tour, taking a water taxi to cross over. Once you arrive, the guide will explain the history of the place. After the explanation, begin a 10-minute walk to our second stop, the salt mines, where you can learn about the area. Afterward, head to your third stop, The Cracks, a natural pool formed by rocks where we will snorkel and observe colorful fish. After finishing, continue to your fourth stop, Playa de Alemanes, where you can swim, sunbathe, and also observe the endemic birds of the area. In the afternoon, enjoy free time to explore the town and shop for last-minute souvenirs. Day 4: Playa El Garrapatero Enjoy breakfast then visit the beautiful Garrapatero Beach, a pristine beach where you can enjoy the turquoise water. Behind the beach is a lagoon where black-necked stilts, Galápagos finches, and migratory birds can be found. Return to the hotel. In the afternoon, enjoy the hotel facilities. Day 5: Transfer Out – Baltra After breakfast, your journey ends, and you will have your international departures. Your small hike will finish at Carola beach. Overnight in San Cristobal. Day 02: Kicker Rock/ / (B, BL) Kicker Rock - snorkel. You will visit the famous Kicker Rock (Leon Dormido), a volcanic formation amid the ocean. There you will be able to snorkel with sharks, rays, turtles, and if you are lucky also with hammerhead sharks! In the afternoon you will be back at the port. Overnight in San Cristobal. Day 03: Santa Cruz – El Chato / (B, L) Breakfast in the hotel. At 6:30 pick you up and take you to the harbor 7:00 speedboat to Santa Cruz (approx. 2-hour ride). A local guide will receive you at the harbor. Your guide drives up to the ranch in the highlands to see giant tortoises in their native environment! Overnight in Santa Cruz. Day 04: Full day navigable tour / (B, BL) Breakfast at the hotel. Depending on the dates and/or navigable site available, pick-up from the hotel will be early in the morning (6-or 7:00 am) to take you to the small vessel at the embarkation point in Puerto Ayora for a unique experience with Galapagos wildlife and endemic vegetation. The destination can be either Santa Fe, South Plazas, North Seymour, Pinzon, or Floreana. The activities will include hiking, snorkeling, swimming, and breathtaking sightseeing. Return to the hotel in Santa Cruz where you can relax. Overnight in Santa Cruz. Day 05: Tortuga Bay – Charles Darwin / (B, L) Pick up from your hotel. Day 06: Transfer out to the airport in Baltra / (B) Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport to board the flight to Quito or Guayaquil. Arrival and connection with the international flight.

Departing in the morning from your hotel, you will be transferred to Tortuga Bay, which is only 45 minutes away by car. Tortuga Bay is one of the most beautiful beaches in the archipelago, with turquoise waters perfect for taking pictures and cooling off. During the trip, you will come across Playa Brava, an area known for its strong waves ideal for surfing. On the other hand, Playa Mansa, to the west, is a gentler region. Here you will have the opportunity to contribute to the conservation of these vulnerable ecosystems by spending some of your free time collecting microplastics from the beach. You will be given a handmade strainer made by local artisans as a form of support. Return to your hotel and Puerto Ayora at your convenience.
