Away from the usual touristy tracks, shoot the first half of the tour in Shimbashi, the area known to be the office worker’s haven. Hordes of “salary-men” wearing white surgical masks flock to the entertainment district after work. It’s a common scene of modern day-to-day Tokyo. Use interesting characters and the graphic environment to your advantage. Learn how to create interesting and artistic images out of the mundane.
Take a short train ride to the next station and change scenery completely. Neon lights and lanterns light the path under elevated train tracks. Capture life in the untidy and colorful eateries and other entertainment districts. Step into modernity again and take photos of people within geometrical shapes at the Tokyo International Forum.
Finally, the tour concludes on an observation deck in front of newly renovated Tokyo Station.
