What You'll Do
  • Visit the most respected Shinto Shrines
  • Explore the area known as "YaNeSen"
  • Learn Japanese history from a licensed guide
Overview
Have you ever heard about "Yanesen"? It's a nickname derived from first two or three letters from three town names, "Ya" for Yanaka, "Ne" for Nezu and "Sen" for Sendagi, an area full of Tokyo downtown atmosphere even in its high-rise buildings.
What to Expect
On this tour you can enjoy "unknown" Tokyo as well as a popular tourist spot, Meiji Jingu Shrine.

Meiji Jingu Shrine

It is one of the most respected Shinto shrines in Japan. Every year over 3 million people visit the shrine for the first prayer of the New Year. It is dedicated to the divine souls of Emperor Meiji and his consort Empress Shoken, although their tombs are in Kyoto.

The Asakura Museum of Sculpture

Before opening to the public as a museum, the Asakura Museum of Sculpture was the studio and residence of Fumio Asakura (1883–1964), a leading sculptor of modern Japan from the Meiji through Taisho to the Showa periods. The building is listed as a national cultural property, and the premises as a whole is a national place of scenic beauty. I personally love Japanese gardens and visited hundreds of Japanese gardens. This Museum’s garden is the best in my opinion.

Yanaka Ginza

Near the museum, you can visit Yanaka Ginza. It is located in the area called "YaNeSen," a heart-warming heartful area in Tokyo. It is named from the first letters of Kanji from "Yanaka,""Nezu" and "Sendagi." Lunch will be taken at a Middle Eastern cuisine restaurant, but subject to change at your request. The order and duration for each place is subject to change per your request.
