Full description

Discover the Tokyo that only locals know as hidden gems. You will explore Shinjuku, the busiest station in the world. Shinjuku is a hub for shopping, entertainment and dining. The tour will last for about 3-hours from 17:00 to 20:00.  You will see different parts of Shinjuku for 40 to 50 minutes while walking around the surrounding areas of Shinjuku. You will then visit two popular restaurants among the locals. The tasting menu will vary depending on the fresh ingredients of the day. Typically, you will taste chicken skewers, a fresh sashimi platter and handmade Japanese croquettes etc. Your food request can be accommodated based on your food allergies and restrictions.  Don't forget about the drinking culture in Japan. The tour price also includes two alcoholic drinks of your choice. You will taste a smooth sake that you might not have tried back home. If you do not drink, it is ok as well. You will still enjoy more than 7 food samplings and the authentic izakaya atmosphere.

Kaz is a great guide! It was such a pleasure to spend time with him and the rest of the group (we fell in love with our South African family). We were in two different izakayas were we had plenty of delicious food and booze. Afterwards we strolled around Shinjuku were we stopped by at different kinds of snack bars. Kaz also showed us the fascinating micro bar district of Shinjuku. The tour ended with the popular Japanese Matcha ice cream. Thank you for this tasty and sociable experience.

Max’s passion for Japanese cuisine is contagious! I tried foods I would never have been brave enough or even to have known to try…and EVERYTHING was delicious! The food you are served at each restaurant is a meal unto itself! Tour was worth every penny and more! Max was beyond thoughtful and aware of the needs of our group the entire time (even getting me an ice pack when I felt too hot from the summer heat). I LOVED the entire evening!
