I had a wonderful time on this tour! I was the only participant that day, which made the experience feel very personal and special. The guide Meg was incredibly kind and knowledgeable. She explained everything in a clear and interesting way. I learned much and truly enjoyed every moment. It was a super unique experience and one I'll definitely remember. Highly recommend it if you're curious about Japan beyond the typical sightseeing.

Next, visit Hie Shrine, a famous power spot for career success and matchmaking, located just a stone's throw from the National Diet Building. The shrine is renowned for its guardian monkey statues at the gate and main hall, with monkey motifs featured on votive tablets and charms. Don’t miss the "Thousand Torii Gates," reminiscent of the famed Fushimi Inari Shrine.

End your tour with traditional matcha and delicious sweets from a long-established green tea shop, Dobashi-en. It's the perfect way to rejuvenate after a day of walking, enjoying the comforting flavors of Japan.

I loved just being able to talk through the process and get a better mental picture of how the Japanese political process works. Given it wound up being 1-on-1 it felt really special though I'm sure that situation is not ideal in the grand scheme of things. Its hard to consider improvements as Meg was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, enthusiastic, and was probably the best tour guide I've ever had. I'd have to almost take another tour for more perspective to compare and contrast. What could be tweaked. I just don't know enough.
