Excellent experience, the staff could speak English (and French!) but I got by with my knowledge of Japanese. Very helpful with cutting the fabric and ironing the hems, and very clear explanation on how to wear the outfit. I had some trouble with picking out the kimono and the obi because of my size, so my first pick wasn't right for my fit, but eventually I managed to find items that fit and looked nice. The kimono had an additional charge of 2000 yen (as detailed on the listing and as identified by a coloured tag on the fabric), and if you want to purchase the obi and it's accessories as well, it's also an additional cost (5000 yen for the obi, obi age and obi jime). But overall, with the exchange rate and considering usual kimono prices, it was a very good deal! Great experience! And the location can be easily reached by train or bus and getting off at Kiba Station, and a 5 min walk through a very cute neighborhood!

We received the Gold Award at the Omotenashi Selection, which is given to outstanding products and services selected by a panel of foreigners living in Japan. First of all, let's get to know each other with a simple self-introduction. 1. Choose your favorite antique kimono from over 300 types of kimono. (Kimonos are ranked in 4 levels. There are red stickers, blue stickers, green stickers, and yellow stickers. The price of this experience is the lowest rank red sticker kimono. On the day, You can also choose a different kimono (blue sticker +2000 yen ($15), green sticker +4000 yen ($30), yellow sticker +6000 yen ($45).) 2. Iron the hemming tape and put the loops through which the belt passes. Learn how to remake into a new kimono in various ways. 3. Coordinating the kimono you made with the easy-to-wear obi, obiage, and obi tightening. Wear it and take a photo. Other notes ・Men don't have a part called "ohashiyori" in their kimono. Therefore, men's kimonos cannot be remade to add length. For men, we have an experience to print the family crest and kanji of the name on kimono, haori, juban and make it into a jacket. ・There is an additional charge for purchasing a obi. (3,000 yen ($22) 〜 (Rentals are free) If you purchase an obi, you will receive an obiage and obijime as a gift. * Calculated at 132 yen per dollar

The people here were so nice and helpful! You have so many options to choose from. It took me probably 30 minutes to pick, but they are so understanding and patient! Making the kimono is so easy. You don’t need any sewing experience to do this activity!
