Full description

Enjoy the beautiful view of Tokyo Skytree and Tokyo Bay on this traditional dinner boat cruise. Yakatabune is a traditional dinner boat cruise popular among locals and tourists to enjoy a delicious meal and fantastic views. The boat departs from Azumabashi, located in the heart of Asakusa. From here, you get onboard to the Yakatabune, a traditional Japanese dinner boat cruising down the Sumida River. Cruise through the city down the river to Tokyo Bay while your Japanese meal starts to be served.

At Tokyo Bay, you can see a beautifully illuminated Tokyo city with the Rainbow Bridge and Odaiba. Make a stop here for you to climb up the roof of the boat and enjoy the panoramic view of the city and take memorable photos.

Your cruise will continue with the rest of your meal being served at the Tokyo Skytree where you will have another stop for the view and photos. From there, return to the Azumabashi Bridge, where the cruise ends.

This was a particularly fun experience since it combined so many things: sightseeing on the river, a ride on a yakatabune, a traditional Japanese multicourse dinner, and an opportunity to mingle with other guests. The attendees seemed to be a mix of foreign and Japanese tourists, and so announcements were spoken in English and Japanese. The two of us sat at a table for six, so we were placed between two other couples and loved getting to know them. While sitting at the tables didn’t offer the best view (it was dark out and some seats had their backs to the windows), the boat made two stops so we could go on the roof and marvel at the view. The all-you-can-drink package is worth it—great choices of sake, sours, and traditional cocktails!
