What to Expect
This celebration is a popular ceremony in which ancestors are invited from the underworld. It is believed that the visit the deceased makes from beyond obeys an obtained permit, so that relatives seek for ways to provide their favorite food and drinks on an altar adorned with yellow marigold flower, pan de muerto, incense, candy skulls and in some cases, to the music of their liking.

During this wonderful tour, you can appreciate the pantheons of Santa Cruz Xoxocotlan and the pantheon of Santa María Atzompa on the day of October 31 and on November 1. You can also visit the pantheon San Miguel, which is the general pantheon of the city of Oaxaca.
