The Trip to Berat was stunning. It was a day to remember in the company of other tour members and our amazing driver and guide named Ilir. He was a very safe driver and had great personality, encouraging us all to engage with each other. Ilir was a real gem providing us with so much information about everything we were seeing throughout the day. The actual journey time approximately 2 hours each way passed through beautiful countryside. Upon reaching Berat, Ilir guided us around the Castle grounds high up on a hill and also showed us a great place for lunch. Then we were taken down to the riverside to the town. We arrived back in Tirana on schedule with wonderful memories. This was all made possible by Ilir.
My sister and I did this day trip summer 2024 and it was amazing! Totally worth the money and would recommend to anyone travelling in Albania who is interested in learning about the history of this country. Our guide Ilir was very very knowledgeable on history, including art, religion, geographic, and political. He planned the day accordingly so that we saw everything worthwhile and had time for many photos! Ps. His driving is very safe and his van has AC!
