We had a great day in Kanchanaburi province with Cherry and Johnny our driver. Cherry suggested some changes to what we had asked for. This allowed us to see the cemetery (very moving), the Jeath museum and to spend some time on and around the bridge. We then did a train ride along the death railway for about 1 hour. This is a must and Cherry had us sitting on the right side for the best views. Despite its horrific past, it is a beautiful and serene area. Finally we went to Erewan falls. Its another 40m of driving but the falls are beautiful and worth a visit. We had a quick cheap lunch and had 2 hours there. I made it up to level 7 but the last two levels are quite hard. Ideally we probably needed a bit longer at all the sites (especially Erewan) but because of the distance involved that wouldn’t be possible. It is a long drive from Bangkok. Maybe some suggested itineraries on the website would be helpful. Thanks Cherry for looking after us and a varied and interesting day! T

The long drive takes you inland, far from the big city. We were in the national park and admired the 7 waterfalls there (entrance fee 300 Baht per person and car 30 Baht). The way up is quite arduous, but it's worth it. After a typical Thai lunch, we were at the largest dam in western Thailand. The dam is surrounded by beautiful nature. You should definitely plan to see this spot. Finally, we went to Wat Ban Tham, a Chinese-inspired temple on a mountain. If you dare to go up, you'll see a dragon that you can walk through and then a great view of the river and the landscape. The long drive was worth it. And thanks to our driver, who seems to have been a racing driver in his previous life, it took us 2.5 hours one way instead of 3. The tour guide kept telling us about the country and its people. Great!

We had a very good time with our guide Jack and our driver Johnny They both knew a lot, not only about the province Kanchanaburi and about the history of Thailand but also about many subjects They were very witty and knew perfectly what we wanted to see They were on time We were offered a choice for lunch, we chose for the Thai lunch, which we loved. We even got to see some monkeys. Jack even accompanied us through all 9 flights at Wat Tham Suae A great day and a fun way to experience Thailand.

Lovely scenic boat ride, got to visit underground cave temple and learn about the death railway.

Great visit to the cave, extremely caring guide. No luck for us the cemetery was closed
