Among the many scenic spots of Zhangiajie, Tianmen Mountain rises above them all. On this private, full-day tour you will experience a thrilling ride to the top of Tianmen Mountain on the world's longest cable car – nearly 4 and a half miles long. Pass over farmer's fields as you rise up the mountainside into the thick clouds above. At the top of Tianmen Mountain, you'll find the Yunmeng Fairy Summit, from which you can enjoy captivating views – when not obstructed by otherworldly clouds and mist. Located on the mountain's summit, Tianmen Mountain Temple has been a pilgrimage site since the Ming Dynasty, and is the Buddhist center of western Hunan. Embedded in the towering cliff, this natural wonder has attracted emperors, hermits, dignitaries, and daredevils for centuries. Its exact origin still lacks convincing scientific explanation.

Start your trip with pick-up from your hotel in Zhangjiajie’s city center at 8:30 AM. Your local expert guide will take you to the start of your trip in Zhangjiajie National Park. Enjoy a private transfer to Tiananmen Moutain - a must-see attraction in Zhangjiajie. Get ready to take the world's longest cable car to the top of Tianmen Mountain. It’s like a rainbow hanging on the sky, as well as a dragon riding through the clouds. At the mountaintop, you can wander along the Ghost Path, appreciate the beautiful celestial mountaintop. You may walk on miles of paths built onto the cliff on top of the mountain with sections of glass floors which is also known as the sky walk. There is also an escalator built inside of the mountain that will take you to the Tiananmen Gate and 999 Steps. Challenge the 999 Steps by hiking or take the escalator at your own extra cost to get down to the bottom of the steps. Enjoy lunch at a well-selected local restaurant and challenge the world’s longest and highest glass bridge in Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon. Hanging over a valley, the glad bridge provides a superb panorama of the entire Grand Canyon. You will enjoy a scenic walk boasting waterfalls and wonderful views on each side. Standing on it is like floating in the air. Afterward, enjoy comfortable transfer back to your hotel in Zhangjiajie.

On the first day you will be picked up from the airport and then given some free time. The next day, you will make your way to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. Explore beautiful scenery during your ride to Bailong Elevator then venture from Yuanjiajie's summit with a 2.5-hour hike into the Pillar of Southern Sky, an inspiration for Hallelujah Mountains in the movie, Avatar. From there, you will proceed to the Platform of Forgetfulness to admire nearby peak-views before walking across the First Bridge Under Heaven. Your activities for the day will conclude with a trip by Tianzi cable car before being transferred back to your hotel. The next day, enjoy a morning view of the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon. Head down to the bottom of the hill where you will have the opportunity to cross a half-mile glass bridge. Afterward, visit Baofeng Lake where you can enjoy some locals singing while taking a boat ride on the lake. On the last day, prepare yourself to take the world's longest cable car to the top of Tianmen Mountain, the highest mountain in Zhangjiajie city. See the sights such as the 99-Turn Road and the 999-Step that lead to the gate of Tianmen from up high on a glass skywalk. From there, you will visit an art gallery of sandstone paintings. Once the tour is over you will be driven back to the airport.

Your local guide and driver will pick you up from your centrally located Zhangjiajie hotel lobby at 08:30. Then, you will have the opportunity to take the world's longest gondola up to Tianmen Mountain. The Tianmen Mountain Cableway is described in tourist publications as the "longest passenger cableway of high mountains in the world," with 98 cars, a total length of 7,455 meters and ascent of 1,279 meters at an unusual grade of 37 degrees. You may walk miles of paths built onto the cliff face at the top of the mountain including sections with glass floors, then visit glass walk, Tianmen Temple, Tianmen Gate and 999 steps. Later on, have a simple Chinese style lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch break, you will head to the Tujia Folk Customs Park to visit the unique old houses and experience the culture of Tujia ethnic minority group. After your tour is finished, you will be transferred to your hotel in Zhangjiajie.
