Enjoy an 8-hour shore excursion to the historic center of Hoi An from Chan May Port, and discover some of the city’s most significant sights. Drive through typical Vietnamese countryside, admire Fujian temples, meet local craftsmen, and more.
What to Expect
Depart Chan May Port for a 2-hour drive to Hoi An for the start of this full-day shore excursion to one of Vietnam’s most lively destinations. En route, admire the typical countryside of central Vietnam.
Upon arrival, explore Hoi An’s compact Old Town to see well-preserved buildings from the 15th-19th centuries, when it was a vital trading port of South East Asia. Learn how the street plan reflected the influence of both the indigenous settlers and foreign tradesmen.
See some of the temples, markets, and old bridges, such as the Japanese Covered Bridge across the Thu Bon River. There will be time to pop into antique shops and chat with the hospitable locals. Discover tailors, where you can get a dress made within hours!
In the afternoon, head north to the Marble Mountains of Da Nang Province. As you approach the city, you’ll see the 5 mountain peaks that symbolize the 5 essential elements, and 156 stone stairs leading to a Buddhist temple at the summit of Thuy Son.
Explore the stone village in the mountain foothills, where skilled sculptors create many marble products from the quarries of Non Nuoc, before your return transfer to Chan May Port.
