We were the only guests on this tour due to Covid-19. Thank you very much for not cancelling the route. Our guide was a studied archaeologist who provided some insights and could answer questions that came up after the various stations. We left at 8:15 from Thessaloniki and returned by 15:00. We have to add that the guide carried a little bit of body odor, and generally we wondered about the timing. At 12:30, we were done with both Pella and Vergina, and while the subsequent lunch break in Vergina was pleasant, we'd rather have spent more time on history before returning. Given that all museums in Thessaloniki close at 16:00, we then filled the afternoon with a bike ride.

Excellent museum both at Pella and Vergina. Both were well presented and interestingly labelled, though Vergina was darker and as a result signs not so easy to read. The archaeological site at Pella was interesting and because we had gone to the museum first the ruins made more sense. We were fortunate in travelling as a small group by car and had in consequence considerable flexibility. Our driver/tour manager was full of information when required but also gave us plenty of freedom to explore for ourselves. A very good day.

It was an awesome experience. Both places were so interesting to see. The guide, George, was knowledgeble and fun. The company organising the tour was great, very helpful. They really went above and beyond for me to enjoy the tour. It was one of the best tours I was ever on. It was February, so it was not too crowded, that was nice as well.
