What an informative, interesting and delicious tour with Tonia! She has great knowledge on the city, culture and as a bonus to the places where we had some of the tastiest food and drinks in Thessaloniki. As Americans visiting Greece for the first time we felt the famous Greek hospitality from the restaurants and shops we visited and appreciated how much Tonia was thoughtful about us having a great experience in addition to the wonderful tastings. A very memorable day and I would highly recommend it!
Taking this tour with Tonia is like having a friend guide you around the city. She is an experienced Chef, she has a real passion for food that she loves to share with you. We were contacted before the tour and asked about our likes/dislikes/allergies, she was then able to plan the day around our answers and adapts it as you go along. It's all very fluid and informal compared to other tours you see going around. Highly recommended.
This tour was the best!! The tour started out at a unique bakery that turned into an exclusive visit with the owner at his wine bar. Tonia then took us on a tour of some local markets where we were treated to samples of many unique foods. Finally, we dined at a restaurant that show cased dishes made from fresh ingredients acquired that day. This tour is not to be missed by foodies and non foodies alike!
I don't often write reviews unless my experience has been really good or extremely poor, I have to write this one because it was outstanding on every level. From the beginning Tonia made us feel both welcome and comfortable. The food was absolutely delicious and exceeded our expectations! We wouldn’t be able to find all that without her. I highly recommend this tour. Thank you Tonia!
Tonia was a warm and kind guide and host of her city! We enjoyed learning about Greek food culture and Greek culture altogether while tasting some of the best food Greece has to offer.
