What to Expect
For passengers on a Mediterranean cruise, this private half-day, fully customizable shore excursion is just the ticket. Taking into consideration the travel time, allow approximately 3-hours for your tour to see the sights of your choice. Choose from the following:
Activities with free entrance:
*Black Sand Beach or Kamari Beach. This was the port for ancient Thira. Enjoy its clear waters for swimming and its rare beauty
*Red Beach (near Akrotiri Lighthouse)
*Pirgos. A traditional Cycladic village, which is great for photos and views of the island. Pirgos is the only village in Santorini where the medieval features and atmosphere have been so well preserved
* Fira. The capital of Santorini, and meeting spot for cruise ship passengers. It’s filled with cute shops, narrow stepped alleyways, crepe houses, and cafés, plus houses constructed on different levels so that the roof of one forms the courtyard of the next
*Kato Fira. Just a short walk below the main Fira town, Kato Fira is a well-preserved district with the churches of Agios Menas and Christos, both masterpieces of ecclesiastical architecture.
*Town of Imerovigli, which means “Watchtower Day.” This was the highest viewpoint to watch out for pirates in earlier days. It was also quite close to the fortress at Skaros
*Oia (Ee-a). The crown jewel of Santorini’s beauty, and possibly the most photographed place for beautiful sunsets on the planet. Sun drenched pastel hues of the Cycladic architecture blend with the colors of the sky. It’s a sight you’ll never forget
