Discover a permanent exhibition that tells the story of Bath's most famous resident, the author Jane Austen, at the Jane Austen Center. Explore the effect that living in the Georgian city had on her life and writing. Costumed guides will take you through the exhibition and be on hand to satisfy your quest for knowledge of all things Austen. Taste some period-recipe food, dress up in Regency costume, and have your photo taken with the world famous Jane Austen waxwork. There is a delightful gift shop on the ground floor, which sells unique items bespoke to the Jane Austen Centre, and a delicious Regency Tea Room on the 2nd floor, which offers 17 varieties of leafed tea to go with locally baked cakes. The guided tour runs every 30-minutes.

Really enjoyed learning about Jane Austen, her family and her association with Bath. The staff / players were informative and clearly passionate about what they do. Enjoyed the museum artefacts and pieces which really captured the essence of what life would have been like for people at that time.

Definitely an experience for any Jane Austin lover. In all honesty I felt like there wasn’t that much, BUT the guide was entertaining and you get to learn more about our favorite author. I would still recommend this as a fun little activity to do while in Bath even if I felt that the Centre itself didn’t have that much from that belonged to Jane Austin herself which would have been really cool.

Great experience overall ! We really enjoyed our visit to the centre, it was a lot of fun. You got to dress up, which was optional. My husband has a new appreciation of Jane 🩷 he thought everything was presented very well.. I’d suggest pre- buying your ticket, we were able to walk straight in. 😀
