Discover Porto, Portugal's "Capital of the North", famous for its renowned wine and UNESCO-listed heritage. In 2023, Portugal was voted "Best Tourist Destination in Europe" and in the world, with over 23 distinctions at European level and several prestigious awards worldwide. Our one-day Porto sightseeing tour offers an unforgettable experience, combining history, culture and gastronomy. You'll explore the riches of this dynamic city, whose origins date back thousands of years. Archaeological digs have revealed traces of ancient civilizations, including the Asturians, while the Romans established the settlement of "Cale" on the banks of the Douro. This settlement is the origin of the country's name, "Portucale", which later became Portugal. In the Middle Ages, Porto became a nerve center of power thanks to the first kings of Portugal, descended from the Counts of Burgundy. It was here that Henry the Navigator, Prince of the Great Discoveries, armed the fleet that captured Ceuta from the Arabs in 1415, marking the start of an era of exploration and trade that propelled the country onto the world stage. The signing of the Treaty of Methwen in 1703 further enhanced Porto's importance, establishing an economic partnership with England that encouraged trade in Portuguese wines, propelling the city to prosperity. On our tour, you'll discover emblematic monuments such as the Maria Pia Railway Bridge, an elegant work by the engineer Eiffel, and the Dom Luis I Bridge, which links the banks of the Douro with its two distinct levels. These architectural marvels testify to Portuguese ingenuity and Porto's strategic importance as a transit point between the river and the ocean. We'll also immerse you in the world of Porto wine. You'll visit historic cellars where this mutated wine, known for its richness and smoothness, is produced and aged. A tasting of this emblematic wine will introduce you to the flavors that have conquered the world. Throughout the day, you'll enjoy an immersion in local culture, with stops in lively neighborhoods, traditional markets and gastronomic breaks to sample Portuguese specialties. Our tour also includes moments of relaxation, where you can admire the beauty of the banks of the Douro and the picturesque charm of Porto's narrow streets. Whether you're a history buff, a food enthusiast or simply in search of new discoveries, this one-day tour is guaranteed to be a memorable experience. Join us for a unique adventure in Porto, a city where past and present intertwine, offering unparalleled cultural richness. Don't miss this opportunity to discover one of Europe's most beautiful destinations!

Incredible to be able to go into all the museums for just this price. Highly recommend the Cork, Wine, and Chocolate experiences and the Porto one was a fun way to get to know more of the city’s history. Perfect activity for a rainy day, you can definitely spend all day here (we were there from 12pm to 7pm). It’s a lot of walking though, so wear comfortable shoes.

The museum was within the WOW complex - it was stunning and not too far to walk to from our hotel (Wine and Books). It took a good 2 hours to go round and some of the exhibits were breathtaking. The museum narrates the history of drinking vessels and their cultures from early times onwards. Well worth a visit.

Very nice visit overall but I would have liked to have a guide for the visit to the cellar that we could read by ourselves. The port museum through the ages is very good and very informative.

Fantastic. I only regret not having had time to visit all the museums, but I will certainly return to finish the visit. An unforgettable experience.
