Important information

Know before you go

  • A team may have as many people as you like. However, the tour is typically best with no more than 6 people on each team. Large groups can break up into many teams and compete for the best point score and time. Each team needs to purchase a Quest with a unique email address and password.
  • This tour is offered at a fixed group price instead of a per-person pricing scale, so this is the perfect city adventure for groups who want to get the best bang for their buck.
  • All information you need to start your tour will be sent to your smartphone, which will be your guide (you will not meet with an actual person).
  • You may purchase your tour days, weeks, or months before your adventure.
  • It's a good idea to bring water, snacks, money, a city map, calculator, pencil and paper and, of course, a fully-charged smartphone.

It was fun, slightly time consuming walking from one place to the next one a lot of it doubled back in circles. I would say my biggest complaint is some of the things were no longer there, may have shut down due to Covid though. For instance it asked a question about what bars you should pass but two of them have since closed down. Also it’s kind of hard to understand what format to enter the questions with multiple answers and we got them wrong several times even though we were answering correctly as far as the actual answer went.

This was so much fun, I would highly recommend it. Plenty of things to do and see. The hunt did not take us inside the capital building so while you are there you need to go inside, it's amazing. Also I would suggest getting a scooter app and taking scooters to each different location as it is probably over 3 miles of walking. We had never been to Austin and this gave us something to do on a Sunday and showed us some interesting areas downtown.

Our family of 7 did this scavenger hunt one day during vacation. We really enjoyed ourselves. There was something for everyone, and all could participate (kids aged 10-21). It was fun to work together, walk through the city and learn a bit more about Austin. Our only critique is that the last clue was a bit easy to miss. One small detail about it's proximity to crossing the street would be great.
