Uyuni: 3-Day Salt Flats Tour with San Pedro de Atacama Trip

Start Time: 10:30 AM Day 1: Uyuni - Salt Flats Begin your tour at the Train Cemetery, where you’ll see abandoned wagons from the Bolivian Railway Company. Then, head to Colchani village to learn about salt production and browse local handicraft shops. As you enter the Uyuni Salt Flats, witness underground river aquifers and visit Flags Square, the Dakar Monument, and the world’s first salt hotel. Enjoy lunch and take unique panoramic, perspective, and mirror reflection photos. In the afternoon, explore Incahuasi Island, home to coral fossils and giant cacti, with stunning views of Tunupa Volcano. End the day with a breathtaking sunset over the salt flats before arriving at your salt hostel accommodation. Day 2: Salt Flats - Huayllajara After breakfast, stop in the small village of San Juan to buy snacks and use the restrooms. Then, observe the active Ollagüe Volcano, sacred to indigenous communities. Continue to the Andean lagoons of Cañapa, Hedionda, Chiarcota, and Honda, where you can see pink flamingos, Andean ducks, and seagulls. Lunch will be served near Hedionda Lagoon. After lunch, enter the Siloli Desert, one of the driest on Earth, located at 6,000 meters above sea level, and see the famous Stone Tree. Enter Bolivia’s most visited national park, the Eduardo Avaroa National Reserve. The day ends at the spectacular Red Lagoon, home to flocks of pink flamingos. After this, head to your accommodation in Huayllajara town. Day 3: Huayllajara - San Pedro de Atacama Wake up early to witness the sunrise at the Sol de Mañana Geysers. Then, relax in the Polques Hot Springs before heading to the Dali Desert, a surreal landscape reminiscent of Salvador Dalí’s paintings.
