Full description
Explore the beauties of Terceira Island, visiting mountains, hills, craters, volcanoes and caves. This tour is in the afternoon, and you are going to visit all the center of Terceira island (places where the public bus doesn't go). Pick-up at your accommodation is at 2:00 p.m.
The first place where you are going is to the tallest mountain of the island. From there and depending on the visibility you can see the other island of the Azorean archipelago. Then it's time go visit the first cave (Gruta do Natal = Christmas cave) which is a lava tube.
After that you will be amazed with the fumaroles field (Furnas do Enxofre), Algar do Carvão. It's the highlight of the tour, because it's an empty volcano you can go in. Before a cheese tasting, a stop at Serra do Cume for a spectacular view over one of the largest craters ever formed on Terceira island Azores.
