Discover the wine and famous mojo sauce of the Canary Islands on this 1-hour workshop in Tenerife. Learn how to prepare the traditional mojo sauce while enjoying the wines and snacks, and enjoy a delicious lunch and guided tour around the winery.
What to Expect
If there ever was something truly original that would represent the Tenerife food scene, it would have to be the mojo sauce. This is your chance to learn how to make this sauce while you have fun and taste wine made with unique grapes that are only used for producing wine in Tenerife and nowhere else in the world.
Guided by the helpful staff, you will learn how to prepare 3 types of mojo sauce following traditional recipes – coriander mojo, parsley mojo, and red spicy mojo. While the mojo sauce is being prepared you will enjoy a wine tasting session of 3 wines including Drago Blanco white wine, Traditional red wine made with a mix of grapes, and Hollera red wine.
You can enjoy a variety of snacks including cress butter with sea salt and dried Tintilia grape skin, Almogrote (cheese paste), chorizo paste, original Papas Arrugadas (Canarian wrinkly potatoes), and bread. You will then enjoy a delicious lunch consisting of shoulder of pork roast served with fresh vegetables, almond mojo, lettuce and onion with Monje Macho Monk vinegar, and potatoes. The pork may be substituted by fish or vegetables with advanced notice.
