Full description
Climb up the highest mountain in Spain – Pico del Teide – on this demanding day tour. You will start from the road through Cañadas towards El Portillo, reaching a height of approximately 2,300 meters. As the route gradually approaches the mountain, you will first reach the back of the Montaña Blanca with the "Huevos del Teide" (the eggs of Teide), huge black rocks. After 1.5 hours, the path through the pumice and lava fields becomes steeper and leads you to the refuge Refugio de Altavista. You will continue on across solidified lava flows to the mountain station of the cable car. You will then hike all the way to the summit of Mount Teide, using your pre-organized special permit. Enjoy the fantastic views of the Canary islands and experience the tranquility of the summit. At the end of the tour you will take the cable car back down to the starting point.

Great day trip to Teide with Steffi and Lothar! Absolutely great guides taking care of every little detail of the trip so you can jump along and enjoy everything without a worry. All that said, it is rather demanding hike. Views are stunning, nature is totally breathtaking. 100% recommended for strong hikers.

Excellent trip ,great communication throughout . Guide rang day before trip to confirm pick up time and location and answered all my questions regarding trip. Steffi and Matheuas conversed in both english and german. Ideal pace for hike which is challenging especially at the higher altitude. Both guides monitored for signs of altitude sickness which did become a factor during hike. The correct decisions were made. Safety was always priority .

Well organized trip, friendly guides! Despite the entire group except us being German speaking, the guides made an effort to communicate in English with us, which made it more comfortable. The hike is physically demanding and not for people who are unfit. Some level of fitness is required to complete the hike.
