Discover the beautiful scenery of the Teno Mountains in Tenerife on this 1-day hiking tour. Walk along rugged terrain past impressive rock formations and enjoy a boat ride at the end of the hike with views of the cliffs and the chance to spot dolphins.
What to Expect
The starting point for this spectacular hike through the Masca Gorge is the small village of the same name. The village is idyllically nestled between the Teno Mountains. From the picturesque mountain village of Masca you will descend 600 meters, past the terraces with beautiful views, diverse vegetation, and impressive rock formations.
The trail runs steadily downhill along narrow, natural paths to the Barranco. First you will pass by abandoned terraces on an old path connecting villages before reaching rocky terrain through a dried out riverbed. Here you can enjoy the varied landscapes of the tour. Please keep in mind, however, that surefootedness is required when walking across the rocky terrain.
At the end of the hike, at Playa de Masca, you can enjoy swimming in the crystal-clear sea waters (don’t forget your swimsuit). Afterwards, board a small boat and cruise back to Los Gigantes, passing by the impressive cliffs along the way as well as a few dolphins with a bit of luck.
